BHDDH is recognized at the federal and state levels as the mental health authority, the single state agency for substance use disorder treatment and prevention and the state opioid treatment authority. The program objectives of the Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) are to support the grantees in carrying out plans for providing comprehensive community mental health services.
