Anxiety and Depression Group: This peer-run meeting aids in relating to others and making meaningful discoveries in dealing with anxiety and depression. Ray Conference Center, Room 2 Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Skills Group: A support group for individuals who have completed the Partial Hospital Program at Butler. Goddard Building, Room 188 NAMI Family and Connection Recovery Support Groups: NAMI's Family Support Groups provide free, peer-led groups for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. NAMI's Connection Recovery Support Groups are for those living with a mental illness. Most groups meet monthly for about 90 minutes and you don't need to register to attend. Family Connections™ (For Families & Loved Ones of Individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder) Family Connections is a 12-week course that meets weekly to provide education, skills training, and support for people who are in a relationship with someone who has Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Focusing on issues that are specific to BPD, it is hosted in a community setting and led by trained group leaders who are usually family members of relatives with BPD. The course runs Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Butler Hospital. A new 12-week course will start in late summer/early fall 2019. If you are interested in receiving an invitation for the summer/fall class, please pre-register at borderlinepersonalitydisorder.org/family-connections/family-connections-pre-registration-form/. Pre-registration is not a commitment to attend the course, but will ensure you are notified of upcoming courses at this and other locations in your region. No longer has state contract for Detox services; referrals ONLY for INSURED individuals. Please use as place of last resort for uninsured individuals. Referrals should go to Sstar first or other agencies receiving state contract. Short-term psychiatric and substance abuse hospital that treats children, 4 years and over; adolescents and adults in acute crisis situations through its 24-hour inpatient hospital, outpatient specialty programs, day hospital and alcohol and drug treatment services. Specialty services available: geriatric, child and adolescent, affective disorders, family therapy, neuropsychiatry, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, social skills, obsessive/compulsive disorders, women's program, sexual and physical abuse, eating disorders and developmental disabilities. Butler Hospital is the state's only non-profit, free-standing psychiatric hospital providing adults, seniors and adolescents specialized assessment and treatment for all major psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse. Butler is the major training site and the base hospital for the Brown University General Residency in Psychiatry.
